Sahara One Media & Entertainment Ltd (SOMEL) has appointed NDTV Media as its exclusive advertising sales partner in India.

As a part of the agreement, NDTV Media would be responsible for selling airtime for Sahara One's bouquet of entertainment channels, a press release issued in Mumbai on Tuesday stated.

These include Sahara's general entertainment channel, Sahara One, Hindi movie channel, FILMY, and the newly-launched Firangi channel which is positioned as World Television in Hindi, the release said.

Announcing this, Sahara Entertainment Business & Aamby Valley City Head Seemanto Roy, said that "as part of our strategic initiatives to further strengthen Sahara One's leadership position in the industry, we have appointed NDTV Media as an exclusive advertising partner for our entertainment channel."

"By leveraging each other's inherent strengths and optimising returns, we hope to take our television business to the next level. This certainly should prove to be a mutually beneficial arrangement," he added.
