Resource hub for next-gen products
Almost every product in the Oracle portfolio has dedicated development teams in India. “Each one of these development teams cover the full software development life cycle by having product management, engineering, quality assurance, infrastructure and technical writing functions in India,” says Murali Subramanian, Group vice-president, Oracle. For instance, engineers from the India development centres have contributed to launch a series of engineered systems which combine software, hardware, storage and networking into one a single system, known as Exadata (database machine), Exalogic (cloud in a box) and Exalytics (analytical capabilities) which has set world record benchmarks in transaction processing and also lowering total cost of ownership.
Oracle continues to attract top talent from premier institutes like Indian Institute of Technologies, National Institute of Technologies and Birla Institute of Technologies. The cutting edge work being undertaken at Oracle India’s Development Centres is attracting professionals from outside India, looking to return back to India.
Murali says that Oracle has consistently invested in innovation and integration. “Since 2004, Oracle has invested more than $19 billion in continued innovation of our products—so we can ensure that each of our products is best of breed in the industry—and in integration, so we can deliver products that work seamlessly together.”
