Mumbai, Oct 22: : RMG David, part of the WPP Group, has bagged the coveted advertising account for LG mobile phones. In fact, LG Electronics India has already kickstarted its new print campaign to announce the launch of LG GSM mobile phones in the overcrowded category. With the headline “Let’s talk life,” LG ads hit the media a couple of days ago - of course, without an agency key number.

According to industry sources, LG Electronics has taken an emotional route to popularise its new launch with the help of creatives from RMG David.”RMG David will handle the ad account of LG Mobile phones, while Initiative Media is the AOR of this account. The ad spend for LG Mobile phones should be around Rs 20 crore. In fact, LG is planning to reshuffle its accounts to gain a competitive edge in the consumer durables segment,” informed sources.

LG Electronics India’s officials were not available for comment. At present, three ad agencies - Lowe India, Rediffusion DY&R and Capital Advertising are handling the advertising accounts of LG Electronics. While Lowe India handles the LG Colour TV (CTV) account, Capital Advertising creates communication strategy for LG CDMA mobile handset.

Recently, Mr Santosh Sood, a senior executive at Lowe India had put in his papers to join a rival ad agency. Since then, speculations have been on as to which agency will get the prestigious LG Colour TV account, observed industry sources.
