India's Finance Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram said on Friday the central bank's tight monetary policy stance would help tame inflation in 3-6 months.

India's annual inflation topped 12 per cent for the first time in 13 years in late July, and analysts said it was yet to peak and the central bank was not done with monetary tightening.

The wholesale price index, India's most widely watched price measure, rose 12.01 pct in the 12 months to July 26, above the previous week's 11.98 perent and the highest since the current series became available in 1995.

Chidabaram Sir, the Moodys have to comment on Indian economy as .. "Higher oil prices and the lack of adequate fiscal policy reactions amidst high pent-up price pressures are putting the burden of macro-economic adjustment on the monetary authorities. As a result, policy as well as market interest rates could rise, and a sharp deceleration in growth may follow,".. have you read this ? Are you in 'day dream' ? By March '09, as you claim, may the common man survive with such a price rise .. !! What you people are doing .. only talks and no action ? May you not iniatiate to stop un-wanted prifit making by the hoarders and speculators .. revamp PDS for the poor.. tax the (real)Rich .. unearh black money etc. when You and your (political) musters are seen busy in winning a "tainted confidence vote" and hide face for its aftermath ?".
