Tea output rises 10.3% in June
Tea production in India, the world’s biggest grower after China, rose 10.3% in June, the state-owned Tea Board said on Thursday. Output rose to 114.7 million kg, from 104 million kg a year ago, it said. Production advanced to 358.3 million kgs in the January to June period, from 338.9 kg a year earlier, it said.
Rajasthan boosts pulses production
Pulses production in the country is likely to hit a record high of over 18 million tonne largely due to high output in Rajasthan. The desert state has registered the highest pulses production of 32.32 lakh tonne in year 2010-11, which is almost two-and-a-half times more than average production in the last five years.
