Mumbai: The recent nuke deals have opened up a plethora of opportunities for the Indian industry in the field of N-power, Nuclear Power Corporation of India chairman and managing director S K Jain has said.
In a paper released at the recently concluded annual conference of the Indian Nuclear Society, Jain said apart from supplying of goods and services for domestic requirements, the signing of agreements had opened up the international nuclear market for the Indian industry.
“India could well turn into an international nuclear manufacturing hub and centre for nuclear services,” he said.
According to him, from taking up works for imported reactors to be set up in the country to export of nuclear components, large business opportunities have opened up for the industry.
“The cost advantage of Indian industry can be turned into a great business opportunity for a long time to come,” Jain said in the paper. He said Indian industry has developed its capability in design, engineering and manufacturing of equipment for building nuclear power plants which is comparable to international standards.
