A co-ordinated series of 13 bomb explosions rocked Mumbai, claiming 250 and injuring 700 injuries. Reported to have been masterminded by Dawood Ibrahim, the blasts came as an aftermath of the Babri Masjid demolition in 1992.

Twin car bombs, within minutes of each other, killed at least 44 people and injured nearly 150. Planted in taxis, the bombs went off in the afternoon. One of the taxi’s containing the bomb was parked outside one of the city’s oldest luxury hotels, Taj Mahal Hotel and the other in a busy jewellery market near the Mumba Devi temple in central Bombay.

An explosion at the residence of a retired irrigation department engineer and Rashtriya Swamsewak Sangh activist Lakshman Rajkondawar in Nanded, Maharashtra, killed two men who were suspected to have been putting together a bomb.

Seven explosions within a span of 11 minutes, 6:24 and 6:35 pm, targeted none other than Mumbai’s local trains. The blasts claimed over 180 lives and injured over 500 people. The attacks seemed to have been fashioned after the mass transit bombings in Madrid in 2004 and London 2005.
September 8, 2008
9.35 pm at the busy marketplace of Bhikku chowk in the textile hub Malegaon. The blast occurred when hundreds were offering namaz at the nearby Noorani masjid. Four were reportedly killed and over 50 injured by the crude bomb planted on a motorbike.
