Orissa Speaker faces sexual harassment charges

Bhubaneswar, Mar 26 Orissa Assembly speaker Maheswar Mohanty has been charged with sexually harassing a female employee of the Assembly, marshal Gayatri Panda.

On Wednesday, the Opposition said business should not be conducted till the speaker was declared not guilty of the charges. The House was adjourned thrice. The speaker, making a suo motu statement, suggested that a House committee be constituted to probe the allegations against him. He also said that he would not chair the house till he came out clean.
