Oman has invited India's private healthcare sector giants to set up mega hospitals with local collaboration in the Dhofar region of the country.

On his maiden visit to Salalah, the green emerald oasis of Oman, India's Ambassador to the country, Anil Wadhwa, met officials of the region's healthcare system, who expressed readiness to provide local sponsorship and collaboration to the Indian private sector, a senior official said.

Wadhwa and his team also visited the Salalah Free Zone company office to get acquainted with the free zone concept of the region and discuss business opportunity for Indian firms.

The ambassador was also given details of power and gas facilities for interested business houses at the free zone, along with the details of necessary formalities required for registration at the free zone company.

He also visited two major industrial plants in the free zone area, the official added.
