: Sikkim Manipal University launches scholarship programme
The university’s Directorate of Distance Education has recently announced the launch of Vidyadeep, a national scholarship programme. Vidyadeep offers scholarships for 1,500 meritorious students of the directorate. Out of these total scholarships, 500 will be offered to students from the North-East. The scholarship constitutes a 100% tuition-fee waiver from the first to fifth semester for students of management, IT, fashion, journalism & mass communications, hospitality & tourism, allied health, biotechnology and bioinformatics. Students should have secured at least 45% in their last qualifying course exam. The scholarship is meant for students hailing from low-income families.
Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Institute of Management offers PGDM course
Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Institute of Management & Higher Studies is a Kanpur-based residential business school. To apply for the post-graduate diploma in management (PGDM) course, candidates should be graduates in any discipline with at least 50% marks. Final year students can also apply. All candidates are required to appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by IIMs or Management Aptitude Test (MAT) conducted by AIMA. After appearing in CAT or MAT, candidates have to obtain the application form and will have to apply separately for the admission in the institute. SIES College invites application for management courses
SIES College of Management Studies has invited applications to three of its programmes for 2010-12. The PGDM is a two-year full-time programme with specialisations in marketing, finance, HR and systems. The college also offers PGDM in pharmaceutical management and PGDM in bio-tech management.
India SME Conclave at IIM Lucknow
IIM-Lucknow, in association with the Indian Industries Association, recently organised the India SME Conclave at the campus. Eminent academics and bankers participated in the meeting. The conclave deliberated on two aspects concerning SMEs—free trade agreements and low-cost financing. Participants appreciated the creation of such a platform to have an informed debate on issues faced by the sector.
