Navis, a Zebra Technologies company (NASDAQ:ZBRA) and the world's first company to automate marine terminal operating systems (TOS), today announced that Mark Welles will lead Navis' sales efforts in Japan and Asia Pacific. He brings more than 22 years of experience working for U.S.-based and regional software companies in Asia. Welles will oversee the Asia Pacific sales team, helping expand the regional sales pipeline and keep pace with demand for Navis' Terminal Operating Systems and Transport Node solutions.

"As shipping ports and line operators around the world race to apply advanced technology to increase their productivity and competitiveness, Mark will help us turn prospects into customers, negotiate comprehensive business deals, and build lasting business relationships," said Richard Harrison, Senior Vice President of Sales, Marine. "As Vice President of Sales, Mark will be a tremendous asset to Navis as we expand into Asia Pacific."

Welles joins Navis from TradeCard, which develops software to automate and integrate sourcing, finance and logistics to extend visibility and control of global transactions. As Vice President of Sales for Japan and Asia Pacific, Welles led TradeCard's regional business as part of the company's global expansion in Asia, North American and Europe. Welles has also held sales and product manager positions with Oracle, PeopleSoft, Infrontier and JD Edwards. Welles currently lives in Hong Kong with his wife and children.
