Mumbai, Sep 1: Riding high on their fathers’ rich status, Vanisha Mittal, Isha Ambani and Pia Singh - daughters of steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal, Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and DLF chairman KP Singh, respectively, have grabbed the top three rankings on a Forbes list of billionaire heiresses.

Vanisha Mittal Bhatia, daughter of Lakshmi Mittal, the fourth richest person in the world as of March, is perhaps best known for the $60 million wedding her father threw for her in 2004. She now serves as a director on the board of her father’s $103 billion steel company Arcelor Mittal. Her corporate involvement and small family — she has only one brother — puts her in good stead to inherit a sizeable chunk of her father’s fortune, Forbes said.

Second on the list is 16-year old Isha Ambani, daughter of Mukesh Ambani, who is ranked the fifth richest in the world. Isha has her own stake in the family’s Reliance Industries, worth about $80 million. Born in 1991, Isha has a twin brother Akash, and a younger one, Hari Anant. Isha is in her final year IB program. Apart from academics, where she has bagged several awards, Isha was also part of a prize winning under-19 girls’ football team and is a trained pianist and talented artist.

KP Singh’s daughter Pia Singh has secured the third position in the Forbes list of the world’s likely- to-be richest heiresses. She already holds a stake worth $400 million in the country’s biggest real estate firm.

For arriving at the billionaire heiresses list, Forbes looked at the daughters of 150 richest people, all of whom had a net worth of $6.4 billion or more in March.

Then they focussed on those daughters who come from smaller families with few or no siblings. Finally, they eliminated anyone whose mothers or fathers had already announced Carnegie-esqe philanthropic pledges.
