Meltdown a boon for firms doing buy-back

from May 20, has spent around Rs 59 crore out of its earmarked buy-back amount of Rs 65 crore at an average price of Rs 360.74, which is its 52-week low level.

Great Offshore, which began to buy back its shares in May and has an end date on March 2009, has already bought back 60% of the buy-back quantity at an average price of Rs 471.86. The 52-week high and low price of Great Offshore are Rs 1,145 and Rs 460, respectively.

However, the only exception is that of Goldiam International, which has gone slow, in the process, managing to pick up only shares worth Rs 1.6 crore during the market turmoil, well below its aggregate amount of Rs 9.37 crore....
