Chandigarh, Oct 14: M&B Footwear, one of the leading brands in footwear retailing in India, is planning to foray into the Apparels and Accessories business this winter season under its home-spun brand iD. Vikas Bagga, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, M&B Footwear told FE, “We’ll be launching our fall winter collection of accessories this season under the iD brand but apparels will have to wait till next season. The project study is going on for the same and it will be finalized soon. We might manufacture the accessories at our own facilities or outsource the work. We might offer licenses to third party for the same but things are yet to be decided. The accessories will include sunglasses, watches etc and the targeted consumers will be the youth since iD is a young brand.”
Expanding its market outside India, the company is planning to register the iD brand in the Saarc countries and the Middle East. Lee Cooper has also been made available in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. “Talks are on with other major international brands for marketing them in India but the new brands will cater to a different segment from the existing ones. Even many apparel brands approach us for diversifying into the footwear segment in the Indian market,” shared Vikas.
M&B Footwear’s manufacturing capacity has been recently scaled up at its Baddi and Noida facilities from 5,000 pairs to 8,000 pairs a day.
