MBA FINANCE
I want to pursue MBA in finance. I am a science graduate. Please tell me about the future options for me in this field.
—Tushar Deore
The future looks to be good for MBAs in finance, but more so for those who have qualified from prominent business schools as they get the most prestigious job offers from campus. The best way to ensure that you get a good launch pad for a career in finance is to work very hard on the management entrance test preparation.
A consistently good academic record so far will add weightage to your MBA application to a premier business school as would strong extra-curricular activities and work experience—ideally related to finance, after graduation. A couple of years of work experience after graduation would enhance your credibility for admission to MBA finance.
The course prepares you for a variety of career paths such as management of financial institutions as also non-financial organisations, investments and securities brokerage, financial analysis of investments, and general management positions. Strong analytical-reasoning skills, quantitative aptitude, problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, decision-making skills and proficiency in the use of computers are useful for aspiring finance professionals.
