: Urban Indians no longer want to make any compromises when it comes to their homes. More disposable incomes (blame this on double income families) and increased spending power means even the luxury apartment which comes at a high premium is no longer the only flavour of the season. Mediterranean style villas and European mansions are no longer a distant dream. Goa and Kerala’s heritage villas may have been converted into holiday retreats for the rich and in-the-mood-to-splurge visitors (both Indian and international) and film shooting venues, but in the last six months, the National Capital Region has also seen a spurt in demand for villas and mansions — and all of these for residential purposes.
