Kolkata, Aug 26: Travel volume in the eastern part of India alone accounted for Rs 460 crore in 2007-08 out of which Kaizen Leisure & Holidays Ltd, formerly known as Peerless Travel Pvt Ltd, an associate company of Peerless Group, has a 30-40% share, general manager Meera Prakash said.

"Kolkata's share was around Rs 340 crore," said Prakash.

For travelling abroad, people from the eastern region prefer Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Mauritius and Dubai and for domestic destinations, places like Goa, Kerala and Rajasthan are the preferred ones, she said.

"In case of Thailand, we offer a package of Rs 20,000 for four nights and five days per person including the passage fare and in case of Dubai it is Rs 40,000 per person," Prakash said.

"Last fiscal, Kaizen Leisure had a turnover of Rs 9 crore and this fiscal we are looking at Rs 15 crore," said Jayanta Roy, director of the company.

He was speaking to reporters at a meet to announce the company's strategic tieups with various service-providing organisations. "Our turnover target of Rs 15 crore for this fiscal is based on these strategic tieups," Roy said.
