Jupiter Bio in pact with US-based GI Logics

Mumbai, June 16: : Pharmaceutical firm Jupiter Bioscience on Monday said it has entered into licensing agreement with California-based GI Logics Inc for developing and marketing Diamox, a product used for eradication of H pylori bacteria.

The focus of the agreement is on the "development and sales for the use of Diamox for eradication of H pylori and for a diagnostic test for infection by and eradication of the bacterium," the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Jupiter would also focus on developing and marketing these products, the company added.

Helicobacter pylori (H pylori) is a type of bacteria and is responsible for majority of peptic ulcers, a sore on the lining of the stomach or duodenum, which is the beginning of the small intestine.

Shares of Jupiter Bioscience were trading at Rs 141.95, up 3.46 per cent on the BSE in morning trade.
