India's Aug exports rise 18.9% y/y

New Delhi, October 1:: India's exports rose 18.9 percent in August from a year earlier to $12.69 billion, steady from the previous month, data showed on Monday.

Imports surged an annual 32.64 percent to $19.57 billion in August.

The trade deficit for August was $6.88 billion, compared with $4.08 billion in the same month a year earlier. The trade deficit was $32.5 billion in the first five months of the fiscal year that began in April.
