Around 4,700 dental surgeons, specialists and super-specialists from various parts of the country and abroad will take part in the four-day 61st Indian Dental Conference to be held here from Jan 25.
The conference was being held as part of the diamond, jubilee celebrations of the Indian Dental Association(IDA)'s Dakshina Kannada unit.
The conference would try to explore newer horizons in dentistry, Dr U S Krishna Nayak, Chairman of the Organising Committee said.
Around 60 national and international speakers would provide insights into the latest technologies in dentistry.
Dental Council of India's President Brig Dr Anil Kohli will be the chief guest of the conference, he said. Nearly 200 dental colleges of the state will also participate in the event.
Two symposia on dental infection control, occupational safety and oral cancer prevention have been organised as part of the jubilee celebrations, in addition to a dental exhibition, he said.
