



New Delhi, April 24: : India has signed an agreement with the United Nations Development Programme to prepare a master plan for integrated and sustainable development of tourism in Uttarakhand, Orissa and West Bengal in 2008, Lok Sabha was informed on Thursday.
An amount of Rs 2.6 crore approx has been allocated for the UNDP scheme and two instalments each equivalent to 25 per cent of the total allocation has been utilized so far, Tourism and Culture Minister Ambika Soni said in a written reply.
Besides this the UNDP has also provided assistance for capacity building of local communities of 36 rural tourism sites.
