Kolkata, Jul 11 : The Institute of Computer Accountants (ICA), a unit of ICA Infotech Pvt Ltd, is set to start a new course on hardware & networking soon to meet the demand of the trained manpower in the Indian hardware industry.
The institute is planning to come up with 150 centres across the country this year for the course. At present, the institute has got 300 centres pan-India that run courses on finance and auditing. ICA Infotech plans to spend Rs 100 crore on setting up the centres.
Indian hardware industry is looking for skilled manpower and the university curriculum is neither updated, so ICA has planned to come up with this course, said NK Shyamsukha, chairman of the institute. "Recently we have also launched courses on retail management and English communication keeping in mind the need of trained work force in the retail industry," he said.
The time-period for the courses vary from one to three months and the fees are Rs 4,000 for the English and Rs 15,000- Rs 30,000 for the retail management course, said Shyamsukha. Apart from the 300 centres, these courses are run in 35 separate centres across the country.
The hardware & networking course will be of a month to 14 months, fees will vary from Rs 10,000- Rs 50,000 and placement is guaranteed, he said. Class XII passouts are eligible for the course.
In a fortnight, 20 centres will be operational in 12 cities across the country for the course. The plan is to take up the number to 150 in a year out of which 100 will be franchisees, Shyamsukha said while opening the first centre in Kolkata. About 100 professionals will teach the students.
At present, the total student base of the institute combining all the courses is around 50,000 and the plan is to double the number in a year, he said.
