Manila, January 5:: The Philippines said it had signed a USD 73.2 million contract with South Korea's Hyundai group for a power transmission project in the southern island of Mindanao.

Hyundai won the bid for the survey, design, supply of materials, installation and commissioning of the 105-kilometre transmission line, the state-run National Transmission Corp said in a statement.

The line is part of a project to boost the transmission of electricity from power plants in the northern half of Mindanao to other parts of the island.
