Carmaker Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) on Friday increased the prices of its recently launched hatchback i10 by up to Rs 5,000.
The company said price hike would be across all variants of i10 and would go up to a maximum of Rs 5,000 on the top-end variant of the car. The hike would be effective from January 12, HMIL said in a statement.
HMIL is also considering to revise prices of other models in the next few weeks, the statement said.
“We had launched the i10 in the Indian market with an introductory price to increase its appeal to a wide range of customers but with our input costs rising, we are increasing the prices marginally for the i10,” HMIL Senior Vice President Marketing and Sales Arvind Saxena said.
He said the company has so far received 15,000 bookings for the i10.
