New Delhi: The country's largest business process outsourcing firm, Genpact, has won a contract from new telecom licensee Unitech Wireless to provide customer service solutions. Norway’s mobile operator, Telenor, holds a 67.25% stake in Unitech and the company is slated to start services by the year-end.
Under the five-year contract, Genpact will provide customer service solutions for Unitech Wireless in its north India circle through its delivery centre in Jaipur. Though the size of the deal was not disclosed, the contract is expected to involve around 400 seats for the region. The contract also marks a big win for Genpact, which has been trying to get a foothold in the domestic market.
“This is a significant win for us and we are delighted to collaborate with a company that is focused on becoming a preferred telecom service provider. Our deep understanding of enterprise-wide business processes and strong culture of operational excellence are strengths we will apply to serving Unitech Wireless,” said Pramod Bhasin, president & CEO, Genpact.
“...With Genpact as our partner, we will build the quality of customer service as our strongest differentiator in this competitive market,” said David Meneghello, executive vice-president-marketing, Unitech Wireless.
