Bangalore: GE Healthcare, the healthcare wing of General Electric, unveiled its new initiatives in the Indian healthcare IT domain as part of the expansion strategy.
Aiming to eliminate upfront capital investment in hospital IT solutions, the company introduced “Managed Solutions”, the first of these initiatives, which would target providers who required integration across multiple locations or planned to expand. V Raja, president & chief executive officer of GE Healthcare South Asia said, “We still lack the infrastructure to enable more unified access across our rural and urban communities. We believe the unique "managed" business model will help transform the way healthcare is delivered in India."
The company also unveiled PACS-IW, its internet based product that would provide remote accessibility for radiologists to review images remotely in addition to instantaneous reporting on true DICOM datasets, reducing overall costs. The company, which was looking to introduce its “managed solutions” in diagnostic centers, government and private hospitals, entered its first “managed” Indian partnership with DCA Imaging Centre, New Delhi, through which, DCA Imaging had already connected five imaging centers across the country.
