Thursday , May 08, 2008 at 1024 hrs India has suspended futures trading in soya oil, potato, chana and rubber for four months with immediate effect, a senior official with the Forward Markets Commission (FMC) said on Thursday.
"This is effective from Thursday ... we have informed the exchanges in this regard," said Anupam Mishra, a director with the market regulator.
"There will be no trading from today in these commodities ... all settlements will be based on yesterday's (Wednesday) closing price."
Soya and chana were among the most traded commodities on the Indian bourses.
