Futures trading in four commodities suspended

Mumbai, May 8: India has suspended futures trading in soya oil, potato, chana and rubber for four months with immediate effect, a senior official with the Forward Markets Commission (FMC) said on Thursday.

"This is effective from Thursday ... we have informed the exchanges in this regard," said Anupam Mishra, a director with the market regulator.

"There will be no trading from today in these commodities ... all settlements will be based on yesterday's (Wednesday) closing price."
