Fujitsu to increase India headcount to 2,500

"India is a very important location for the company to help cater to increasing global client base efficiently. As our operations expand here, we expect to employ an additional 1,000 people by 2010," Fujitsu Consulting Chief Executive Officer John T Rose told reporters here.

The company inaugurated a new offshore development office in Noida near here, set up with an investment of 10 million dollar (about Rs 40 crore).

The new development centre at Noida, spread on 10,000 square feet, is the company's fourth such centre in India.

Presently, the company has development centres in Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

"The opening of this office will substantially improve our ability to deliver services to our clients anywhere in the world. We will also be able to attract top talent from among a large pool of software professionals," Rose said.

The new centre would enable the company to expand its professional staff and respond to increased demand for software application development and implementations and sales support services for clients in India, the US, Canada, Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and other Asia Pacific markets.
