New Delhi: Retired Chhattisgarh High Court Judge Dilip Rao Saheb Deshmukh, who was supposed to join as the chairman of the Company Law Board (CLB) on December 1, will take charge on Friday since the post fell vacant after the arrest of CLB head R Vasudevan.
“He was supposed to join on December 1 but we have requested him to take charge from Friday given the situation now,” corporate affairs minister Salman Khurshid said. Vasudevan, who was the chairman of the CLB, was arrested by the central bureau of investigation (CBI) on Tuesday for allegedly taking bribe.
Khurshid also said the government will not relook into the investigations handled by Vasudevan when he was heading the inspection department of the ministry of corporate affairs before joining the CLB three months ago.
He was looking into high-profile cases like Satyam and the Sesa Goa fraud.
