New Delhi, Apr 16: The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has shortlisted five consortiums, including Anil Ambani promoted Reliance Energy, Tata Changi consortium and engineering giant L&T among others for upgradation of each of the non-metro airports at Amritsar and Udaipur.
Besides these three bidders which have been shortlisted for both airports, the Fraport consortium and the Lanco Infratech led consortium have been shortlisted for Amritsar airport while GMR and Maytas Infra consortiums are in the race for Udaipur airport.
The Udaipur airport project is expected to be a Rs 200 crore project and both projects are expected to be completed by 2010.
The shortlisted candidates are pre-qualified applicants for COMDT of the airports for participation in the bid stage.
According to a statement from the civil aviation ministry, the successful bidder would be responsible for commercial operation and maintenance (O&M) of the terminal building commercial use of the space therein, development and operation of cargo facilities and city side development in accordance with a concession agreement to be signed by selected bidder and the AAI.
As part of the bidding documents, the AAI would provide for the project a draft concession agreement and information memorandum prepared by itself or its consultants and other information relevant to the project available.
Bids will be invited for award of the project to the bidder quoting the highest annual premium that is payable to the government. All other project parameters will be determined before inviting the bids, the ministry’s statement said.
