Founder of BPL mobile, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, has taken over as President of the Federation Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry at the conclusion of the 80th Annual General Meeting of the chamber.
While managing director of J K Paper, Harsh Pati Singhania and managing director of Bharti Enterprises, Rajan Bharti Mittal, have been elected as the senior president and the vice president respectively.
Chandrasekhar is currently a member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) representing Bangalore and the Chairman and CEO of Jupiter Capital, a venture development, management and investment company focusing on infrastructure, media and technology.
His flagship company, Jupital Capital is evaluating investments in the untapped infrastructure space in areas like transportation, utilities, electricity transmission and aviation, a FICCI statement said.
The newly elected senior president, Singhania is a fourth-generation industrialist belonging to - JK Organisation with interests in paper and boards, cement, tyres and tubes.
Mittal is the chairman of Retail Committee of FICCI and Managing Director of Bharti Enterprises, which has interests in telecom, agri business, insurance and retail, the statement added.
