E-tendering to check mafia

Lucknow, December 24 : To check mafia and criminal elements in tenderand contract activities, the Uttar Pradesh government decided to implement e-procurement scheme under the national e-governance plan.

In the first phase, this scheme would be implemented in the PWD, irrigation, industry, medical and health departments, all corporations of information technology and electronic department, industry directorate and all the externally-aided projects supported by the World Bank, as a pilot project. The duration of the project would be from February 1 to September 30.

The e-procurement scheme would be implemented for all the tenders valuing more than Rs 1 crore of the PWD and irrigation department, all tenders falling under the high power committee of all the medical and health department, all tenders of all the corporations under the information technology and electronics department, printing and stationery department and construction works and materials of all externally-aided projects supported by the World Banks costing above Rs 10 lakh and services costing above Rs 5 lakh.
