: Infy inks pact with Oracle

Infosys Technologies on Friday announced that it has teamed up with Oracle to launch a comprehensive managed services platform for multi-function HR through its Infosys business platforms offering. The Infosys business platform for HR is built on Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Capital Management Suite.

Bajaj Allianz’s new CEO

Private non-life insurer Bajaj Allianz on Friday announced the appointment of Hemant Kaul as the new CEO of the company. “The board of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance has approved the appointment of Hemant Kaul as the new CEO. The change would be effective from December 1, 2009 and is subject to IRDA approval,” the insurer said in a release. Kaul earlier was the executive director with Axis Bank.

Biocon director sells shares

Bangalore-based biotech firm Biocon's independent director Neville C Bain has sold shares of the company aggregating to Rs 4.23 crore, through open market transactions. In two separate transactions, Bain has sold 1,25,000 shares and 50,000 shares of the biotechnology firm, for Rs 2.99 crore and Rs 1.23 crore, respectively, Biocon said.

Aditya Birla Minacs pact

Aditya Birla Minacs, a global business solutions company (subsidiary of Aditya Birla Nuvo), on Friday announced signing of an outsourcing services deal with Aditya Birla Financial Services Group, to provide customer care, back office support, and finance & accounting services.

Aurobindo gets USFDA nod

Pharma firm Aurobindo Pharma on Friday said it has received final approval for from the US health regulator for lamotrigine tablets used to treat epilepsy. The company has received final approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for lamotrigine tablets (chewable, dispersible), Aurobindo Pharma said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

New NIIT president

NIIT University, a not-for-profit organisation sponsored by IT trainer NIIT, on Friday said senior researcher Rajeev Shorey has been appointed as the president of the institution. In his new role, Shorey would be responsible for the overall functioning of NIIT University, its founder Rajendra Pawar said.

BEML bags order

BEML Ltd has recently bagged the order for supply of largest walking dragline from Northern Coalfields Ltd. The total value of the order is Rs 185 crore, which includes consumable spares for three years.
