



: Satyam payback deal
Mahindra Satyam is reportedly on the verge of finalising a deal to payback an undisclosed sum to the Victorian government following the collapse of a $75-million IT project in Geelong. According to The Australian newspaper, Satyam pledged to repay the funds given to the company by the government to lure it to Geelong after the scheme was canned in September.
Thermax’s contract
Thermax on Thursday said it has bagged an order worth Rs 477.77 crore from a Orissa company for construction of a captive power plant. As per the contract, Thermax would provide various systems, including air pollution control, water treatment and effluent treatment units for the power plant, the company said.
Premier Inn foray
Premier Inn, UK's leading hotel chain, on Thursday announced its foray into the mid-market segment with the launch of its first hotel in Bangalore. “There is a huge demand for cost-effective and quality rooms from both corporates and individual travellers,” Aly Shariff, MD, Premier Inn India, said.
Tata Tele feat
The country’s sixth largest telecom operator, Tata Teleservices, added the highest number of subscribers at 3.8 million during October, taking its total subscriber figure up to 50.7 million, according to the Association of Unified Telecom Service Providers of India.
Bharti Airtel added 2.7 million users in October, taking its total to 113.2 million and Vodafone Essar gained 2.98 million users to 85.8 million.
