



New Delhi/ Mumbai, April 14:: As summer sets in, there is another round of price war in the soft drinks industry.
With Pepsi dropping prices of its 300 ml (returnable glass bottles - RGB) from Rs 8 to Rs 6 in the Delhi market, the company’s arch rival Coke has also reduced the prices.
However, Coca-Cola India has dropped prices of its 300 ml to Rs 6.50 in Delhi circle, inform trade sources.
Surprisingly, top officials from Coca-Cola are tight-lipped about the company’s new pricing strategy for its 300 ml bottles.
As mercury levels rise, the cola war hots up in the Indian soft drinks industry-once again.
At Coca-Cola India, the emphasis is on highlighting the pricing strategy of its flagship brand Coke 200 ml which is now available at Rs 5.
In Delhi, Coke is in the process of launching an aggressive multi-media ad campaign to announce its new price for its 200 ml bottles. As for Pepsico’s pricing strategy for its 300 ml RGB in Mumbai, says a spokesperson from Pepsico: “We have no plans to reduce the price of our 300 ml RGB in Mumbai which stands at Rs 8-as of now.”
