Eleven persons were injured and five houses ransacked in a clash between activists of Trinamool Congress-backed Bhumi Uchhed Pratirodh Committee and CPI(M) at Takapura in Nandigram, police said on Wednesday.
BUPC workers ransacked the houses of five CPI(M) activists triggering the clash late on Monday night.
Nine of the injured were released from the hospital after first aid and two were admitted, the sources said.
None was arrested in this connection.
Police and CRPF teams were patroling Takapura since the incident.
At present, about 300 CRPF personnel are keeping vigil in Nandigram, the strength of the paramilitary force reduced from nearly 500.
Meanwhile, 31 persons arrested in connection with earlier cases like murder, assault and arson in Nandigram were produced in a court yesterday.
Of them, fourteen were remanded to police custody for 14 days and 17 got bail.
