Import of chicken to Jharkhand's Pakur district from West Bengal following bird flu alert was sounded in the neighbouring state, authorities said in Pakur on Wednesday.

Pakur deputy commissioner Rajesh Kumar Sharma said three teams were constited to visit Rahaspur, Ilami, Manikrampur, Nawada, Sangrampur, Randanga, Anjana and other places to take stock of the situation as Pakur borders West Bengal's Birbhum

district, where culling of affected chicken began on Wednesday.

The teams include doctors and support staff, he said and added that there was no report of bird flu anywhere in the district.
