Mumbai, Aug 14 : Cairn India has embarked upon an intensive recruitment campaign, to staff up its Rajasthan operations with more than 300 key positions, for various roles filled through this drive. Cairn India along with its partner Oil & Natural Gas Corporation is engaged in the discoveries in Rajasthan, including Mangala field. The nationwide campaign plans to recruit professionals to assist with the operations and maintenance of mechanical plant and equipment associated with the Rajasthan wells, production, utilities and pipeline facilities.
Cairn India, headed by chief executive Rahul Dhir, currently employs more than 800 people from various parts of the world at its headquarters in Gurgaon and at operational bases in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan. The company operates more than 70,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in India on behalf of its joint venture partners from two processing plants. Cairn India has an interest in several blocks across India and Sri Lanka. Rolf Stork, director operations, Cairn India said: “Post 2010 Cairn India will be responsible for up to 25% of India’s crude production, we believe that the opportunity to work in the Rajasthan Operations team is something that will attract some of the best people in the country to join us. The oil field development work in Rajasthan has already started. The integrated upstream and midstream development is on course to produce first oil from Mangala in the second half of 2009.
A variety of posts targeting several key operational areas at Cairn India’s Rajasthan project - one of the biggest in the country are on offer. Earlier in November 2007 Cairn India had handpicked the first batch of fresh operations engineering graduates from colleges in Rajasthan.
The first batch of graduates has undergone training at Ravva and Suvali terminals before joining the Rajasthan operations team. Senthil Kumar P, director, human resources & administration, Cairn India said: “We are in the process of securing top talents.
