Bulk foodgrain rake moves out from Adani’s base depot

Kaithal, Oct14 : In a big fillip to India’s foodgrain storage and handling procedures, a ultra modern bulk food grain rake of Adani Agri Logistics Limited, a part of Rs 20,000 crore Adani group took-off from Adani Base Depot at Village Sollu Majra on Dhand-Kaithal Road Tuesday.

This specially designed rake is basically a state of the art wagon loading system that allows the wagons to be filled at the rate of 700 metric tons per hour.

Bulk Food Rake is a part of food grain storage and transportation agreement that Adani Agri Logistics Ltd. and Food Corporation of India have signed for a period of twenty years at a cost of Rs 650 crore.

Under the agreement Adani Agri Logistics have established storage and handling infrastructure at more than half a dozen places in various part of India. It has established two base depots at Kaithal in Haryana and Moga in Punjab.

Talking to FE, Pranav Adani, Director of Adani Group said, “The objective of the project is to prevent wastage of food grains and to preserve its inherent nutritional content.”
