New Delhi, Jul 14: Even before the Sunil Mittal led Bharti group could commercially launch its DTH venture, the information and broadcasting ministry (I&B) has slapped a show cause notice on the company to cite reasons behind ‘violation’ of foreign direct investment and other guidelines in its Direct-To-Home services, the launch of which is due in near future.
Bharti, however maintains that the company has complied with all licence conditions in its DTH venture and satisfactory replies to all queries of government have been sent.
"We are in complete compliance of all necessary regulatory guidelines, including FDI and foreign equity component as laid down in DTH licence conditions and requirements, and all the relevant details have been submitted to the I&B ministry,” a Bharti spokesperson said.
