Dhaka, February 11:: Bangladesh spinner Mohammad Rafique is considering an offer from Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan to play in his Indian Premier League (IPL) team when the inaugural Twenty20 competition begins in April.
The Indian actor recently bought the IPL's Kolkata team from the Indian cricket board (BCCI) for more than $75 million.
Rafique, who will retire when Bangladesh's home series against South Africa ends in March, said he was interested in the offer but would wait before making a decision.
"I felt really honoured after getting a call from him (Shah Rukh). But at the moment I am only thinking about the home series against South Africa," the left-arm spinner said.
South Africa are due to arrive in Bangladesh on Thursday to play two tests and three one-day internationals. The first test starts in Dhaka on Feb. 22. The series ends in March.
Bangladesh selectors have recalled 37-year-old Rafique, who has played in 31 tests and 125 one-dayers, in a 17-member preliminary squad.
"It is going to be my last series, so I want to finish it on a high," said Rafique, Bangladesh's leading wicket taker with 94 test and 125 ODI wickets.
"I have remained in touch with Shah Rukh's agent in Kolkata. Hopefully we will sign a deal after the South Africa series is over," he added.
