Indore, January 11:: Opposing proposed merger of associate banks with the parent State Bank of India (SBI), the officials and employess of the associates under the banner of United Forum of Bank Unions' will go on a day long strike on January 25.
All India State Bank of Indore Officers' coordination committee, president, Alok Khare told PTI that to oppose the merger of associate banks with the SBI they will go on a day long strike on January 25 and then again for two days on Feburary25 and 26.
Khare confirmed that the SBI has intensified its efforts for securing necessary permissions from the centre for going ahead with the merger plan.
"We oppose the merger as it is not in the interest of the economy and also against those sectors which are directly benefitting from the associate banks," he added.
