Bangalore, April 4: : The Electronics Division (EDN), Industrial Systems Group (ISG) and Electroporcclains Division (EPD) of Bangalore-based Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) recorded an all time high turnover of Rs 1,687 crore in 2007-08, a 13 per cent growth over 2006-2007.
The Bangalore units booked highest-ever orders to the tune of Rs 3,227 crore. At the end of the 2007-08 financial year, the outstanding order book position of these units stood at Rs 4695 crore, up by 63 per cent, a company press release said.
The Profit Before Tax registered was Rs 429 crore, an increase of 14 per cent from Rs 376 cr. in 2007.
The performance highlights for 2007-08 include a record number of supply of 3000 automation system cubicles in 2007-2008, successful development of test bed and higher rating semi-conductor Diode for use in 800 MW turbo generators
It also received the first order from Nuclear Power Corporation for maxDNA-based automation system for 500 MW Bhavini Nuclear Power Project at Kalpakkam.
The year's highlights also include signing of a business sharing agreement with Strukton Rail Infra, Netherlands and Framework Agreement with STEAG, Germany, the release said.
The Electronics Division registered a new record in its business relationship with Indian Railways during 2007-2008. The unit supplied 50 sets of Control Electronics and 28 sets of Power converters to Chittaranjan Locomotive Works, valued at Rs 100 crore.
The Industrial System Group achieved a 50 per cent increase in order bookings from the buoyant steel sector.
