The principal Opposition party BJP on Friday demanded that the UPA government seek a vote of confidence in Parliament if the Left parties withdraw their support. The party also alleged that worst kind of "opportunistic politics" is being played between the SP and the Congress.
‘‘We would expect Manmohan Singh to seek the vote of confidence with political morality and integrity expected of the government,’’ BJP spokesperson Ravi Shanker Prasad told reporters here. Party chief Rajnath Singh had made it clear that the NDA won’t be moving a no-confidence motion if the Left pulls down the government.
‘‘BJP is deeply concerned over the political theatre of the absurd being played in Delhi designed to save the tottering UPA government wherein governance has become a serious casualty. We are finding the worst kind of opportunistic politics being played.
