BHEL acquires firm, to set up power plant

Mumbai, May 10:: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, India's state-run energy equipment maker, has taken over engineering firm Bharat Heavy Plate and Vessels Ltd, BHEL said in a press statement on Saturday.

The company also signed a memorandum of understanding with Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corp Ltd for setting up a 125 megawatt coal-based power plant, the release added.
