Insurance company Aviva has shortlisted five agencies for its global media planning and buying account. enithOptimedia, Maxus, Carat, OMD and Initiative are participating in the business worth Rs 25 crore. In India, the media duties are handled by ZenithOptimedia.
GM hires agencies for media and creative duties
According to media reports, General Motors (GM) has shuffled its creative business. Publicis India bags the account that until now was with Leo Burnett. Additionally, Starcom Worldwide wins the media business. The transition will be completed over a period of few months.
UPS global account goes to Ogilvy & Mather
Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide has been appointed the global communications partner of International courier firm, UPS. Ogilvy won the account, following a tough selection process that narrowed down the choice from eight global networks over a six-month period.
Pizza Hut sticks to JWT as creative partner
Following a multi-agency pitch that involved JWT, O&M, BBDO and Saatchi & Saatchi, Pizza Hut has retained JWT as its creative partner. The creative pitch was called in September 2009. The account is pegged at Rs 15 crore. JWT Delhi has been handling the account for the last 10 years.

Reliance Media World Ltd promotes Tarun Katial and Ismail Dabhoya
Tarun Katial has been elevated from chief operating officer to chief executive officer of BIG 92.7 FM. Katial joined in 2006. He will continue to be responsible for the radio business—BIG 92.7 FM Radio along with the SBU’s of BIG Live, BIG Reach, BIG Street, BIG Events. In yet another movement at RMWL, Ismail Dabhoya, senior vice-president, finance and commercial, has been elevated to the position of the chief financial officer. Dabhoya has been with the company since its inception in 2006 and was part of the start up team. Prior to Big FM, Katial has done stints at STAR as executive vice- president (content) and at Sony as business head. Dabhoya meanwhile was deputy financial controller at Star India Pvt Ltd for three years.
Abraham Thomas calls it a day at Red FM
Abraham Thomas, COO of Red FM, has put in his papers. Thomas has been associated with the radio station since March 2005. Armed with two decades of experience in the business. Thomas had done stints with The Indian Express, Sony Entertainment Network and MTV Networks.
