Hyderabad, Feb 1 : To leverage the growth happening in the luxury car segment in India, Germany luxury car maker Audi is planning to focus on enhancing the dealership network, investing more on training the workforce, improve the range of products besides working on the local assembly line in Aurangabad which went operational recently.
Speaking after the inauguration of a dealership showroom in the city, Benoit Tiers, managing director of Audi India said, the idea is to have a dealership outlet in every city. Right now, Audi cars are available in dealerships in New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Gurgaon and now in Hyderabad. Plans are on to have dealerships at Chennai and Cochin as well.
The Hyderabad showroom, which is spread across 5,500 square feet, would not only display the entire Audi range of cars including Audi A8, Q7, A6, A4 and Audi TT but would also give a feel of the exclusive Audi world to the customers, he said.
Benoit Tiers said, India is a strategic market for Audi. “We want to bring all models to the country to offer an entire range of products for the customers. We started the local assembly of A6 in 2007 and by July this year, even the A4 model will be assembled locally,” he said adding by 2010, the company will be targeting to sell over 3,000 Audi cars in the country.
