9 LPG cylinders for BPL families in Haryana
"Families living below poverty line in Haryana would get three more LPG cylinders on the pattern of Delhi Government at subsidised rate over and above the six LPG cylinders per household annually as announced by Union government," Hooda said in an official release.
The decision to this effect has been taken in wake of the appeal made by UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to give three extra subsidised gas cylinders in the Congress governed states.
The state government has already made LPG cylinders VAT free in the state, he added.
Last week, the central government had announced to restrict the supply of subsidised LPG cylinders to six per annum in order to cut subsidy burden. Beyond the limit of six, consumers will have to pay market rate for getting the supply which could be more than Rs 700 a cylinder.
