Eight out of 10 young people think of a blackberry as a mobile phone rather than a fruit, according to a poll.

According to a survey for the Environment Department, eighty-two per cent of 16 to 24-year-olds said they would be most likely to think instantly of a smartphone if a blackberry was mentioned, the Daily Express reported.

British farming Minister David Heath said the statistics represented a “huge level of disengagement from the countryside".
